Marcie Tunstall
Director of Nursing, Women & Newborn Services

UT Health Tyler

My name is Marcie Tunstall and I graduated from UT Tyler school of nursing in December 2005. I took my first nursing job at ETMC in labor and delivery. I knew women’s and children’s nursing was my calling from a very young age. I have worked in labor and delivery for the course of my 16 years in nursing. I have served in multiple leadership roles such as educator Maternal and Neonatal coordinator and now most recently Director of nursing of women’s and newborn services. I have been married to my husband Canon Tunstall for the last 14 years and we have two boys cash in steel. I grew up in East Texas so it only made sense to stay here to raise my children . Improving the care of the maternal and then it’ll population has been my calling my entire career. I most recently was involved in opening the neonatal intensive care unit at UT Health Tyler and we look to expand our maternal and nano services to all women in East Texas.  Next up on our list of things to provide to the community is a neonatal transport team. Through this neonatal transport team We will be able to serve more premature and critically ill infants right here in East Texas. Caring for people has always been a calling of mine and especially right here in East Texas where I grew up.
