Career Success Conference

What is the CSC?

The Career Success Conference (CSC) is a networking event designed to allow business and industry leaders to share their experiences and wisdom with today’s students. More specifically, the conference is designed to help students build the personal and professional capacities necessary for career success.

Students can shake hands, speak, and network with business and industry leaders who want to share their professional experiences on variety of topics and discipline-specific panels. The conference hosts speakers from a variety of industries and backgrounds on our main campus. Each speaker brings their own stories of career mindedness, career development, and career success to the table.  Industry professionals, alumni, and faculty come together for a one-day event with the purpose of helping UT Tyler students make informed career decisions.

Students who attend the event have the opportunity to update their resume, take a professional headshot, sit in on a panel discussion, network in a field of interest, and establish professional connections before they walk the stage. Student attendees will also have the opportunity ask important career-focused questions, like:

  • How can I effectively network with professionals in my field of interest?
  • What are key skills and qualification employers look for in potential candidates?
  • How can I gain relevant work experience while still in college?
  • What strategies can I use to successfully navigate the job search process?
  • How do I find balance between pursuing my passion and considering practical career opportunities?

Where is the CSC held?

The Career Success Conference is held on the main campus of The University of Texas at Tyler.

Who is the Career Success Conference audience?

The audience for the Career Success Conference includes students from more than 80 undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degree programs.

What is the session format?

The conference is comprised of three interactive sessions.  Speakers will serve as part of a panel. Panels will consist of individuals from like industries and organizations.  Session moderators will help guide the conversation with pre-formatted questions.  This format allows students to develop a deeper and broader understanding of varying career paths.

What amenities are available to conference speakers?

Valet parking – Valet parking is provided from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm at the Alumni House.

Shuttle Service – Golf carts will be available to all conference speakers for transport from session to session and throughout campus.

Speaker Lounge – Location: University Center 3rd Floor

Available:          8:00 AM – 2:45 PM

Meals Provided: Continental Breakfast and Lunch
