Began practicing Bankruptcy law in 1993 and opened my own firm in March of 1995, with the primary focus of my practice being consumer and small business bankruptcy . The majority of my clients are Debtors (individuals or entities in financial crisis), but I do limited representation of lenders/creditors as well, and have a significant amount of litigation in my practice. Over the past 25 years, I have represented clients in over 7500 bankruptcy cases, and have tried cases (both bench and jury trials) in State Courts, Federal District Courts, and Adversary Proceedings in the Federal Bankruptcy Court.

Additionally, I have done appellate work in Bankruptcy cases and have argued cases in front of the fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. I am married to Amy Lively, a Director of Development at UT Tyler, and we have 4 children.
