Prior to her move to East Texas, she worked with Division One collegiate athletic teams, private orthopedic practices, and outreach at the secondary level.  Casey is the Region 5 Director for Texas State Athletic Trainers Association and actively participates in the East Texas Athletic Trainers Association as the continuing education chair. She is a Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer Power Panel member, an influential group of stakeholders who reflect and respond to a range of strategic initiatives that impact the athletic training profession. She has served as the Sport and Youth Traumatic Brain Injury Chair of the NETX Brain Injury Coalition, an extension of the Texas Department of State Health Services Regional Advisory Council.  Her time in East Texas has included several continuing education activities, such as providing concussion education for the deep East Texas and the Tyler-Longview chapter of Texas Association of Sports Officials, Stop the Bleed training, and Heartsaver and BLS CPR/AED courses.   As the first female athletic trainer hired within the Christus health system in 2009, she is most proud to have contributed to the advocacy and expansion of the athletic training profession in East Texas and specifically in rural communities. Healthcare equality and access for area athletes is one of her passions in order to contribute to both the individual and community’s health and success.   When Casey is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two daughters, aged 7 and 10. Avid baseball fans, they are four stadiums away from achieving their goal of visiting every Major League Baseball Stadium.
