Chris Thompson is the Surgical Services Operations Manager at UT Health Tyler. He is from Keller, Texas and has lived in Tyler since 2013. He and his wife, Kayla, have a 13 month old baby boy, Asher. Chris graduated from The University of Texas at Tyler with a BS in Mathematics and received his MBA. He has worked at UT Health since 2018 and has helped develop a very unique, non-clinical role supporting clinicians. Chris is involved in strategic and capital planning, cost savings, and value analysis relating to surgery. He has positively impacted surgical services by replacing old equipment and introducing new, innovative technology to benefit the patients in East Texas. He works directly with surgeons, administration, finance, supply chain, and the business office to ensure the business side of the operating room (OR) goes smoothly. He has published two articles: one with Dr. Luis Fernandez and another for The Economist. Chris enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar for his church and running with former cross-country teammates. He is passionate about servant leadership, uncovering the needs in his department and working on solutions.
