Chuck Gaines
Maintenance and Engineering Manager
International Paper

Chuck Gaines is the Maintenance and Engineering Manager at the International Paper, Valliant Mill in southeast Oklahoma.   He has held positions of increasing responsibility in engineering, reliability and production/maintenance management at the Valliant Mill for 33 years and in the pulp and paper industry for 37 years.  Prior experience included work in the pressure vessel and heat recovery industries for 6 years.   

Over his career, Chuck has led and played key roles in major mill upgrade/optimization projects and has contributed to significant organization design changes to increase efficiency and flexibility.  He has supported customers in the US and Mexico.  Additionally, the Valliant Mill has achieved the highest overall ratings in the Reliability Element of the International Paper Global Management Systems. 

Chuck lives with his wife, Sandra of 37 years in Idabel, Oklahoma.  He has taught adult Sunday school classes for 40 years and together, he and Sandra enjoy four grandbabies and travel to cool, mountainous regions where they hike and ride their side-by-side.
