Dr. Greg Bower completed high school studies in 1992.  In 1995, he earned an Associates degree from Kilgore Junior College.  After words, he transferred to the University of Texas at Tyler where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1997 with a major in history and a minor in English.  While beginning his career as an English teacher, and history teacher, he worked to earn a Masters of Arts degree in history in 2003 from the University of Texas at Tyler.  He worked as a public school teacher for eight years as an English Department Chair and English Coordinator until 2006 when he finished his principal certification from Texas A&M Commerce.  He served as an assistant principal and associate principal for three years at Corsicana High School before becoming the executive principal for that school from 2008 to 2012.  In 2012 he earned his superintendent’s certification from the University of Texas at Tyler.  He served as the executive principal of Crosby High School from 2012 until 2015. In 2015, he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction for Quitman, ISD.  In that same year, he was accepted into Cohort 10 at Lamar University where he earned a Doctorate of Educational Leadership in August of 2018.  Not content with his terminal degree, he went on to earn his Masters in English from Texas A&M Commerce in 2021. Currently, he serves as the Superintendent of Como-Pickton Consolidated School District where he was hired in April of 2017.  In 2020, he was named Education Service Center, Region 8’s, Superintendent of the Year.
