Dr. Zhikun Liu, CFP® is the retirement financial planning research director at Empower Retirement™ in Denver, Colorado. He holds two bachelor’s degrees, four master’s degrees, and a Ph.D. degree in 6 different majors including Information Technology and Computer Science, English, Mathematics, Economics, Finance and Personal Financial Planning. Dr. Liu is also a Certified Financial Planner® and a second-degree black belt in Taekwondo.

Dr. Liu’s friends and colleagues like to call him “Dennis.” He is described as a good learner among his peers and like to use what he has learned to serve others. Dr. Liu is currently working as a research director at Empower Retirement™ to develop thought leadership papers and innovative retirement products and services to benefit the 9 million-plus retirees that his company currently serves.
