Municipal Services Manager
Gene Keenon has been employed at Republic Services a Fortune 300 Environmental Company for twenty nine years starting at an entry level position to the current Manager of Municipal Services negotiating municipal environmental services contracts all over the East Texas Area. Raised in Dallas he married his wife Melynda in Kilgore 32 years ago they have raised three children. They also have four wonderful grandkids with another one on the way. Currently Co -Chair of the East Texas Workforce Solutions Board of Directors and serves on the East Texas Workforce Economic Development and Facilities committees, East Texas Council of Governments’Economic Development District and Solid Waste Advisory Committees, Henderson Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, President of Kilgore Boys & Girls Club, a Paul Harris Fellow and past president of Lindale Rotary. Gene has been humbly honored with receiving several awards in his life including Kilgore “Citizen of the Year”, East Texas Council of Governments’ “Regional Committee Services Award” twice, Republic Services top “Winners Circle Platinum Award” three times, “Winners Circle Gold level Award” three times “Winners Circle Silver level” two times, he was also given the “Individual Leadership Award” from Keep Texas Beautiful that’s given to only one person in Texas annually for “Teaching Texans to Enhance Their Own Environment” and has been instrumental in helping his company receive “Business Of The Year” in eight East Texas cities. Gene believes the gateway to success is building relationships deep and wide encouraging and treating everyone he meets with respect and kindness regardless of a persons’ status.
