Jennifer Ferrell Clinical Director for LPOHH 5 COBS/Vascular Unit at Christus Mother Frances Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital!  My journey:  I started my nursing career in 2015. Prior to my nursing career I was a schoolteacher and worked in WISD and TISD.  I started my nursing journey on LPOHH 4 Telemetry unit and worked night shift and day shift for about a year and a half. I then transferred to LPOHH 5 COBS/Vascular unit where I was a charge nurse, preceptor, and admit discharge nurse and halo nurse.  I also served on many committees and helped perform audits and trainings throughout the 4th and 5th floor units when new programs/devices/processes were implemented.  I transitioned to the Clinical Director role in February 2020 and have enjoyed my nursing journey. I love learning and teaching and combining both into my role as Clinical Director.  You learn something new everyday if you allow yourself the opportunities.  The beauty in nursing is it is always changing and advancing giving you so many avenues to learn and tackle new things.  I enjoy watching nurses grow in their practice and advance their knowledge in our specialty area and patient populations that we care for at the Heart Hospital.
