I am 30 years old born and raised in Natchitoches, LA in 1991.  While my mother was pregnant with me her appendix ruptured which caused my eyes to stop growing.    The doctors said I would never be able to see at all.  I can see 3-5 feet in front of me.   While going through education I fought to stay as normal as I could. The system wanted to label me disabled and place me in strictly special education classes.  I refused to be labeled this way and showed that I could do whatever it took in the class room.    I was always told that I wouldn’t be able to make it through high school because of my vision but I graduated in the top 5 of my class at Lakeview High School in Campti, LA.   I was accepted into Northwestern St University in LA with a full scholarship.  While at NSU I graduated with a Double Bachelors in Psychology and Addiction Studies.   I was immediately accepted into the Master Program and gained my Master Degree in Sport Administration.   As I was gaining my degrees at Northwestern, I was given the opportunity to work for the Northwestern State Men’s Basketball program. It was always a dream of mine to work with a Division 1 program but  again I was told that I couldn’t do it with my vision limitations.    I worked for the program for 6 years. In my last two years with the program I was nominated to the NCAA Division 1 Men’s Basketball Most Courageous Award and became the THE FIRST EVER Blind Director Of Operations in history.
