Mary Ann Lackland often says she is in the wish fulfillment business, helping people and organizations communicate their message more effectively.

She founded Fluency in 2001 with an online team of professional designers, editors, and writers who develop content and “tell stories that matter” for a variety of clients. From books to website content, Fluency’s turnkey process from idea to final product lends support to key individuals and organizations that are busy helping people move forward in some way.
She attended college in a Chicago suburb to develop a fondness for snow and to receive her undergraduate and graduate degrees—not knowing then that she would one day marry a Norwegian. She and her Texwegian husband split their time between the Northern Lights in Norway and the Texas heat.
