CHRISTUS Good Shepherd

My name is Michael Montandon, I am a born and raised East Texas native and graduated from Hallsville Highschool. I have 4 children ages all under the age of 10 with my wife of 11 years. I began my medical career in the U.S. Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, upon early discharge in 2008 I began working in the Environmental Services department at a local Skilled Nursing Facility while I obtained my CNA Certification. After getting my certification I started working as a CNA at Highland Pines before transitioning to DaVita as a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician in 2010 for 5 years in the outpatient clinics. I got my Associates Degree in Nursing from Kilgore College in 2015 and transferred to the Acute side of DaVita as a staff RN covering 4 hospitals in East Texas. I then got promoted to Clinical Coordinator, Assistant Administrator, and eventually the Hospital Services Administrator in 2018 and spent the next two and a half years in this capacity managing my acute program in operations, finances, and clinical oversight. In 2021 I transitioned from DaVita to Christus Good Shepherd when the dialysis program was in-sourced as the Director of Dialysis providing general oversight of the dialysis department and assisted in process improvement as well as policy development in the early stages of our insourcing. In late 2021 I broadened my oversight at Christus Good Shepherd Longview and became the Clinical Director of Dialysis and W600 IMC. Currently I serve as the Clinical Director of Dialysis and W600 IMC, as well as the Interim Corporate Director of Dialysis providing guidance and clinical oversight to all of our in-sourced dialysis programs across several ministries. I am also enrolled in the University of Texas at Arlington’s RN to MSN Accelerated Online program working towards obtaining my Masters of Science in Nursing Administration.
