Rachel Sherman is currently the principal at Hazel Owens Elementary in Tyler Independent School District. This is her second year to serve as principal at Owens. Previous to that she has served as an elementary classroom teacher, middle school assistant principal, and been in a campus principalship the last seven years. Mrs. Sherman attended the University of Texas at Tyler for her undergraduate and graduate degrees.

She met her husband Geoffrey Sherman at the university. Her husband Geoffrey is currently serving as the principal at Hubbard Middle School in Tyler ISD. They have three children Landon, Emma Kate and Millie. They enjoy being active alumni and serving the community of Tyler.
