Robert A. Smith, MBA, BSN, RN, is an experienced Emergency Services Leader in Health Care.  Robert has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Florida, and Master of Business Administration with specialization in Health Care Management from Saint Leo University.  He started his career in Health Care as a Patient Support Tech in Emergency Services before serving in a variety of RN roles in Health Care, such as: Medical ICU, CVICU, Emergency Services, Stroke/STEMI Team, and now Health Care Leadership. Driven by providing compassionate, timely and efficient care, he takes pride in providing the best Emergency Services possible to the community’s he serves.  As an Administrative Director of Nursing for Emergency Services at Christus Good Shepherd Health, his goals include creating processes that produce streamlined care, increasing both Patient and Associate Satisfaction, Associate Retention, as well as standardization of care across his four Emergency Departments.  In addition to his primary job functions, Robert has been recognized by BayCare Health System for Clinical Nursing Excellence in the category of Leadership.  Additionally, he was most recently recognized by his peers and voted into the Christus Good Shepherd Nursing Hall of Fame as Nurse of the Year 2022. Robert serves on the EMS Advisory board for Longview, Texas and is currently working with Community partners on a newer initiative, Greater Longview Optimal Wellness, more commonly referred to as GLOW.
