Ron Short is Chief Executive Officer of Longview Orthopaedic Clinic, an independent orthopedic surgery practice in Longview with 9 orthopedic surgeons and 5 Advanced Practice Providers. Prior to his role at Longview Orthopaedic, Ron was a full-time caregiver for his daughter who battled a devastating eating disorder. It was in this time that he learned the true power of supercharging communication through the use of tactical empathy. And in 5 minutes, you can learn it too.

Ron has also served as Chief Operating Officer of Care Systems, Inc., a healthcare technology firm in Washington, DC, and as Chief Administrative Officer at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, TX. He is a servant leader whose passion is leading change that results in efficient, patient-centered care. Ron holds a Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Tyler.

Away from work, Ron enjoys mentoring young leaders, presenting at professional conferences on the use of tactical empathy, playing competitive baseball for the Dallas Thunderbirds and Oklahoma City Vipers of the Men’s Senior Baseball League, and attending heavy mental concerts with his 21 year old son Andrew and his 16 year old daughter Abby.
