Ron Short currently serves as Chief Executive Officer for Longview Orthopedic Clinic, an independent orthopedic surgery practice in Longview with 10 orthopedic surgeons and 6 Advanced Practice Providers. Prior to his role at Longview Orthopedic Clinic, Ron was a full-time caregiver for his daughter who battled a devastating eating disorder. It was in this time that he learned the power of supercharging communication through the use of tactical empathy.

Ron has also served as Chief Operating Officer for Care Systems, Inc., a healthcare technology firm in Washington, DC, and as Chief Administrative Officer at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview, Texas. He is a servant leader whose passion is leading change initiatives that result in efficient, patient-centered care. Ron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Studies and a Masters of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University, as well as an MBA from the University of Texas at Tyler.

He is Board Certified in Healthcare Administration through the American College of Healthcare Executives. In his spare time, Ron enjoys mentoring young leaders, presenting at professional conferences on the use of tactical empathy, trading options, playing competitive baseball for the Dallas Thunderbirds of the Men’s Senior Baseball League, and attending hard rock concerts with his 22 year old son Andrew and his 17 year old daughter Abby.
