CHRISTUS Good Shepherd

Teresa Halcomb serves as the Chief Nurse Executive for CHRISTUS Good Shepherd Health System.  In this role, she has the responsibility to oversee nursing practice at all campuses, including the Provider-Based Clinics in Longview and Marshall.  She also collaborates and serves as a consult to CHRISTUS St Michael CNO/Atlanta and CHRISTUS Highland CNO/Coushatta.    Prior to joining CHRISTUS Good Shepherd, Teresa served at CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hospital and Clinics, where she was an Associate Chief Nursing Officer of the Tyler campus.  Teresa joined CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Hospitals and Clinics in 1986 and has over 35 years of Nursing and Administrative experience.  Teresa is a transformational leader with extensive experience in healthcare management, operations and financial management.  In her vast leadership experience, Teresa has proven her ability to improve operations, drive growth and maximize profitability and possesses strong qualifications in general management, strategic planning, business development, financial analysis, and staff development/leadership.  Her commitment to customer and associate satisfaction, quality outcomes, and system core values and mission is that of no other.  Teresa holds a Master’s of Science degree from the University of Texas at Tyler, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler.  Teresa is a member of numerous professional organizations, some of which include Sigma Theta Tau, American Nursing Association (ANA), American Organization of Nurse Leaders (ANOL), Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) and Emergency Nurses Association (ENA).  Community involvement is also a big part of Teresa’s life.   A few of her contribution include serving on the Healthcare Advisory Council at Kilgore College and University of Texas at Tyler, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity and serving as chairperson for the American Heart Association.  Other local interests include health fairs, screenings, community education programs and philanthropy.
